If you saw my desk you'd think I have a pen fetish. I don't. I'm just a person with a sore thumb, looking for a pen that doesn't cause writer's cramp.
I have found it. Uniball Jetstream Fine Point, 0.7 mm. The Uniball Jetstream Bold 1.0mm point is very nice too, but if you need a fine point pen, one that feels frictionless when you write, which allows you to write teeny-tiny notes in the margins of books, or underline text without covering it up, look no further.
I have bought gel pens, which write very nicely, but they seem to run out of ink very rapidly, usually have a very broad - sometimes blobby - line, and they are not cheap. I've bought Uniball Onyx "smooth write" pens, and roller ball pens by Pilot which claim to be smooth writing as well. They are disappointing, because they feel like I am writing on sandpaper, and cause my hand to tire rapidly. They even sound scratchy.
If you want a really, truly, Teflon-smooth writing experience, you will love Uniball Jetstream pens. I just wish I could find refills for the 0.7mm pen, and wish I could find it in blue and red!

I got a blue Jetstream Fine Point pen free in a pack of other Uniball pens and instantly switched to this type. The pen puts down a nice precise line that dries quickly and is one of the best at not bleeding through to the other page, even on thin notebook paper. The pen is well balanced and the shape and rubbery grip feel great in the hand. The pen also looks good and has a nice secure cap that will ensure it stays safe in your pocket. The only drawback I've experienced is sometimes the ink globs up near the ballpoint. Highly recommended.
